COVID-19 Face Mask Protocol for Students
All students returning to EKU campus this fall will be required to wear a face mask or covering in order to live on campus, participate in on-campus classes, and campus activities. EKU will provide those students, faculty, and staff who are on campus, either 2 masks, or two gaiter face/neck coverings. EKU students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, the CSA staff, and faculty who have a DHH student in their classes, will be given face masks with clear plastic inlays, allowing more of the person’s face to be visible. Face shields will not be permitted, as they are least effective in lessening the transmission of the virus. The Center for Disease Control, and the World Health Organization, report that one of the key components of curtailing the transmission of COVID-19 is wearing a face mask. If you believe you will be unable to abide by this public health protocol, please contact your advisor to discuss available online classes.
